Naya Records is an independent record label founded and established in 2009 by drummer and producer Nathan Sabanayagam. After a six-year period of recording music with veteran reggae musicians and artists in Kingston, Jamaica, Nathan decided it was time to bring the music to the world; Naya Records was born! Many of the early recordings and releases happened at the home of legendary guitarist Earl "Chinna" Smith in Halfway Tree, Kingston.

FOUNDER NAYA RECORDS
For over 2 decades, Nathan Sabanayagam has been on a self-guided reggae journey that has taken him around the world, working with the original architects of reggae music as a drummer, producer and engineer. Nathan began his reggae career in Baltimore, MD while attending Loyola
College. There, he drummed for keyboardist Joe Cooper, who introduced him to the legendary drummer, Winston Grennan. Nathan was eager to absorb as much as he could from Winston.
